About Us

BYX Rowing Center was was born of passion and respect for the sport and the athletes. Our aim is to provide the best rowing experience and show this small part of our country, sharing a bit of our culture and gastronomy.



Manuel Barroso

Born: 1987

Rowing coach

Degree in Sports Sciences

Masters in High Performance Training

Local skipper and Radio Operator


Started rowing at the age of 14 and was National Champion several times in doubles, fours and eights.

Started as a rowing coach at the age of 18 and trained athletes of all ages, gaining a special interest in Masters and the different challenges that accompany a pool of athletes as varied as this.

Now organising the camps and accompanying all athletes that join us.



Vasco Outeiro

Born: 1978

Rowing Jury

Sailing Coach

Degree in Urbanism

Local and Coastal skipper and Radio Operator Jury and Race Committee Official (Sailing)

Certified Measurements Inspector for official races (Sailing)


Started as a leisure rower in 2012 and since then worked on all organizational aspects of the rowing club and regattas.

Now responsible for logistics and media as well as the day to day operations of the center.
